About Eli Mirzoeff

The third generation of a family of jewelry designers and purveyors of gemstones, Eli Mirzoeff brings nearly a lifetime of experience to his work as the owner and operator of East Continental Gems, Inc. Born in India, he studied gemology under his father before relocating to New York to found East Continental Gems. Eli Mirzoeff continues to operate the firm from the same 5th Avenue location where it first opened.

Mr. Mirzoeff has overseen East Continental Gems’ growth over the last 40 years. He brings to the firm a unique combination of high design standards, gemological expertise, and a reputation for integrity and solid business ethics that has established East Continental Gems’ standing as an exclusive, high-quality purveyor of fine jewelry and gemstones. An expert in diamonds, rubies, sapphires, and emeralds, Mr. Mirzoeff provides clients with “one-of-a-kind” pieces for which the firm is known. His clients range from specialty jewelry boutiques to high-end department stores across the United States, the Middle East, Asia, and Europe, as well as stores on Madison Avenue and the Champs-Elysées.

While the firm has grown over the past four decades, Eli Mirzoeff continues to run the business as a small, service-oriented, and family-operated firm. Mr. Mirzoeff’s son, Adam Mirzoeff, joined East Continental Gems in 1993 and graduated the following year from the Gemological Institute of America. He is a certified Gemologist, the highest-ranking title available to those in the gemology field.

Both Adam and Eli Mirzoeff give their time and money to various local charitable organizations that focus on prayer, education, and helping those in need. Adam Mirzoeff has helped to balance the budget in the millions for education through his work on the alumni board of The Mir.
